Drop Spindle Yarn Spinning Workshop

Learn how to turn wool roving into yarn! In this beginner workshop, participants will learn the park and draft method of spinning on a drop spindle and create their first skein of yarn.
All materials are provided for the workshop, including wool roving and beginner-friendly drop spindles. Spindles can also be purchased at the end of the workshop for $15.
Museum admission is included in the price of your ticket, so you can arrive at 12:00 for a chance to explore the museum before the workshop.
The minimum age for this workshop is 16.

The Georgian Room, which was on the ninth floor of the Eaton’s store and was a modern rendezvous for smart entertaining, will come to life in the Robinette Room of Campbell House. Featuring music, the history of the store, and of course lovely tea and sweets.

Paper Cutting Workshop with Annyen Lam

Join artist Annyen Lam for a hands-on workshop in the art of paper cutting. Spend an afternoon learning and creating within the welcoming historic environment of Campbell House Museum.
This three-hour workshop will introduce you to the skills involved in conceptualizing, designing, and creating unique paper-cut artwork. Each participant will leave with either a completed small piece, or a larger piece in-progress.

Needle Felting Workshop with Cathy from WoollyDoodles

Join fibre artist Cathy Disbrow for a hands-on workshop in the art of needle felting. Spend an afternoon learning and creating within the welcoming historic environment of Campbell House Museum.
This three-hour workshop will introduce you to the skills needed to create a vibrant and expressive needle-felted artwork. Learn how to attach the wool fibres, blend wool colours, shading and highlights, and other needle felt tips and techniques. Participants will be taught to create a 6” x 4” wool painting of a Spring landscape with a river and sheep.
